DGS Hosting has been for a long time our own hosting top level domain for all our own web sites and of course the biggest of them all, the dogsites.com.au web site. It is also being used to host a number client dog related web sites. DGS was just something we came up with back in 1996 to cover Dogsites Hosting without actually using the word Dogsites in the name. The DGS basically comes from DoGSites, but is also an acronym for 'Delivering Great Site Hosting'.
The physical web servers we use are located in Melbourne Australia, meaning that for the majority of our clients, fast access is ensured with the Australian based servers. Many other host providers have overseas based servers, even if they themselves are located in Australia. While that works, having servers in Australia means better performance and also more robust and localised service and support.

Our hosting is priced on a help yourself type of service, where most, if not all, questions are usually answered in our Hosting FAQ. Support is provided via email and all support questions are actioned within 24 hours unless otherwise advised by us. If your request will take longer, we will contact you and we will work with you to complete any request as quickly as possible (e.g. site transfers).
